Chichibu’s Intergalactic Series is a perfect blend of the exquisite palette and quirky labels that feature retro sci-fi illustrations. Chichibu’s Intergalactic Series was first released in 2019. As of now, it features 6 editions of high-quality, unique spirits that combine tradition with modern trends. The first two display retro-style robots, the 3rd and the 4th: anime-style aliens and the last two: modern-style astronauts. All of them are produced in extremely small batches – each edition contains less than 250 bottles. No wonder they sell out in seconds after the release. In addition to incredible flavours and unique palette, all the Intergalactic Series editions are vibrant and colourful, definite eye-catchers and conversation-starters.

Aroma: Pretty strong aroma worth of classic bourbon. Apparent notes of burnt wood and light ash, yeast, cocoa and caramel. Allowed to breathe, it releases a sweet aroma of yellow and white fruit syrup.
Taste: As much as the peat is not obvious on the nose, it becomes very apparent in the mouth. The first edition of Chichibu Intergalactic Series tastes of wood, coconut, black pepper and cold ashes. The finish serves graphite with slight citrus notes.

Aroma: Very pronounced rich stout notes. Full of coffee, bitter caramel and blackberry fragrance, with apparent liquorice and anise. Allowed to breathe, it releases a sweet aroma of wine and butter.
Taste: The mouth is a perfect combination of dark, velvety, Belgian stout beer and classic whisky taste. The 2nd edition is full of yeast, lemon, melon, camphor, oak and chocolate flavours with liquorice and camphorated fruit finish. Overall quite sweet, with apparent tannins in the aftertaste.
Contrary to the two previous releases, the 3rd edition of the Chichibu Intergalactic Series does not feature a retro-style robot on its label. Instead, it moved on to the more current theme associated with Japanese culture – anime – while continuing the intergalactic motif of the series.

In late September 2021, Chichibu launched the third set of their limited-edition Intergalactic Series. The 5th and 6th editions are bottled at rather high strengths in the 60s and – similarly to previous sets – are both taken out of 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels. These editions are Spaceman-themed and feature modern-style graphics created by Mr Kalopsia. With his design, he wanted to demonstrate how enjoying a glass of fine whisky can make you get lost in admiration, “as if you were to travel across the universe”.
The 5th edition of the critically acclaimed, highly-demanded Intergalactic Series is a perfect example of Japanese Single Malt whisky that will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs. It is creamy, zesty, bold and exquisite. Truly, it is a perfect whisky to get lost in.

Taste: Unique, deep and flavourful. 1st fill bourbon barrel allows for a sweet and creamy ice cream soda taste that beautifully compliments the famous Chichibu zestiness.
In September 2021, Chichibu released the 6th edition of its Intergalactic Series. The single malt whisky is bottled at 63,6 % and continues the modern-style spaceman design introduced by the 5th edition of the series.
The latest edition of the renowned Intergalactic Series combines everything that critics love about Chichibu distillery. A great and complex palette of the marvellous spirit, along with an innovative and beautiful design, will please every whisky enthusiast.
