At Distilia, our journey usually begins with a search for the extraordinary.
We travel around the World looking for rare single casks destined to become part of projects such as The Sins, The Virtues, or I Movimenti - bottlings that often spend decades maturing before reaching collectors' shelves.
But every journey has its unexpected discoveries.
Along the way, we taste hundreds of casks. Some are destined for prestigious limited editions. Others, despite their younger age and more approachable price, surprise us with something just as important: pure drinking pleasure.
These are the spirits that inspired our newest collection.

A Different Philosophy, the Same Standards
Distilia Essentials was created for one simple reason.
Not every exceptional spirit needs to be 40 years old or produced in tiny numbers to deserve attention.
Sometimes a younger cask offers such vibrant fruit, balance, and authenticity that it becomes impossible to ignore.
Rather than leaving these hidden gems behind, we decided to bottle them under a dedicated series that celebrates accessibility without compromising on quality.
Every release is still carefully selected by the Distilia team. The only difference is the philosophy: these are bottles made not only for collecting, but above all for enjoying.
The First Releases: Two Remarkable Domfrontais Calvados
The series opens with two expressions from La Cave Normande, both produced under the Calvados Domfrontais AOC, one of Normandy's most distinctive appellations.
Made with 100% pear content, both bottlings offer a beautifully fresh and fruit-driven profile, combining crisp orchard fruit with elegance and remarkable drinkability.
They are expressive, lively, and wonderfully balanced - proof that great flavour isn't measured solely by decades spent in oak.
A Surprise Success in Limburg
Before officially launching Distilia Essentials, we brought samples of both Calvados to this year's Whisky Fair in Limburg.
Originally, they were simply meant to complement our portfolio of older, collectible bottlings.
Instead, they became one of the biggest surprises of the event.
Visitors kept returning for another taste, and these were the very first bottles to sell out by the dram at our stand.
For us, that was the best possible validation.
Sometimes the simplest bottles create the strongest impressions.
