Initially, the company produced not only alcoholic beverages but also pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Suzuki Chuji, the second son of the Ajinomoto brand founder, started with soybean cultivation and established Showa Brewing Corp. in 1934, which was later renamed Miraku Breweries Corp. in 1949.
