Hanyu 1991/2008 17 Year Old #9303 - Eight of Hearts

A rare expression from the legendary Hanyu Distillery, this 17-year-old single malt was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2008, representing another fascinating chapter in the history of one of Japan's most collectible closed distilleries.

Matured in a Spanish Oak Sherry Butt, cask #9303, the whisky was bottled at 56.8% ABV, preserving the character and intensity of the original spirit.

Released as part of Hanyu's Cards series, this edition was limited to 617 bottles. With Hanyu having ceased production in 2000, original bottlings from the distillery have become increasingly scarce, making them highly desirable among collectors of Japanese whisky.

About the Distillery

Hanyu Distillery was established in Saitama, Japan, and produced whisky until its closure in 2000. Despite its relatively short production history, Hanyu has become a legendary name in the world of Japanese whisky.

Following the closure, the remaining stocks were preserved and later used for a series of highly regarded releases, contributing to Hanyu's cult status among collectors. Original bottlings are now increasingly rare and represent an important part of Japanese whisky history.
