Karuizawa 1974 Geisha Set – Blue Geisha & Gold Geisha
Among the most iconic and visually striking releases from the legendary Karuizawa Distillery, the 1974 Geisha Set unites two exceptional single-cask bottlings that embody the artistry, rarity, and prestige for which Karuizawa has become famous.
Both whiskies were distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2014, after an extraordinary 40 years of maturation. Presented together as the celebrated Blue Geisha and Gold Geisha editions, the set showcases two distinct expressions from the final remaining stocks of one of Japan's most revered lost distilleries.
The Blue Geisha originates from Sherry Butt #4560 and was bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.8% ABV. Limited to just 192 bottles, it is among the rarer releases within the Geisha series.
Complementing it is the Gold Geisha, drawn from Cask #3626 and bottled at an impressive 64.3% ABV. With only 392 bottles produced, it represents another highly collectible expression from the distillery's legendary warehouses.
The Geisha series is widely regarded as one of the most important and desirable collections ever released from Karuizawa. Combining exceptional whisky with artwork inspired by one of Japan's most enduring cultural symbols, these bottlings transcend the world of spirits and enter the realm of collectible art.
Today, complete Geisha sets rank among the most coveted Karuizawa releases, sought after by collectors not only for their rarity but also for their significance within the history of Japanese whisky.

Karuizawa's reputation was built upon its small-scale production, long maturation, and distinctive use of sherry casks. Today, releases from the 1970s are considered among the finest and most collectible Japanese whiskies ever bottled, with the Geisha series standing as one of the most celebrated chapters in the distillery's legacy.
