Hanyu 2000/2008 8 Year Old #7004 - Seven of Clubs

A remarkable expression from the legendary Hanyu Distillery, this 8-year-old single malt was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2008, offering a rare glimpse into the character of a Japanese distillery that has long since ceased production.

Matured for eight years in a single cask #7004, finished in refill American oak hogshead, the whisky was bottled at a powerful 59.0% ABV, preserving the spirit in its natural, undiluted form. The distinctive Seven of Clubs label adds another layer of character to this highly collectible Hanyu release.

As one of the increasingly scarce whiskies from the now-closed Hanyu Distillery, this bottling represents an important piece of Japanese whisky history. Produced before the distillery's remaining stocks became the foundation for Ichiro Akuto's later releases, bottles such as this have become particularly sought after by collectors of Japanese single malts.

About the Distillery

Hanyu Distillery was established in Saitama, Japan, and produced whisky until its closure in 2000. Although its production history was relatively short, Hanyu gained a cult following for the distinctive character of its single malts.

Today, Hanyu is regarded as one of the legendary closed Japanese distilleries. Its remaining stocks became the foundation for some of the most celebrated Japanese whisky releases, including Ichiro's Card Series, making original Hanyu bottlings increasingly important pieces of Japanese whisky history.
