Hanyu 1990/2010 20 Year Old #9022 - Nine of Spades
A rare and mature expression from the legendary Hanyu Distillery, this 20-year-old single malt was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2010, a decade after Hanyu ceased production.
Matured in cask #9022 and given a Cream Sherry Butt finish, the whisky combines two decades of maturation with a finishing period in sherry wood. Bottled at 52.4% ABV, it retains the strength and character of the original spirit.
Released as part of Hanyu's distinctive Cards series, this bottling was limited to 584 bottles. With original Hanyu whisky becoming increasingly scarce, expressions from the distillery's final production era remain highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of Japanese single malt.

About the Distillery
Hanyu Distillery was established in Saitama, Japan, and produced whisky until 2000. Although its production history was relatively short, Hanyu has achieved legendary status among Japanese whisky collectors.
After the distillery closed, its remaining stocks became the foundation for a number of celebrated releases. Today, original Hanyu bottlings are increasingly difficult to find and represent an important chapter in the history of Japanese whisky.
