Karuizawa 1984 29 Year Old 56.7% #7802 - Cask by Cask

A rare expression from the legendary Karuizawa Distillery, this 29-year-old single malt was distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2014 as part of the highly collectible Cask by Cask series. Matured in a Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry Butt, it represents a distinctive single-cask expression from one of Japan's most sought-after closed distilleries.

Matured for 29 years and drawn from a single cask (#7802), this whisky was bottled at 56.7% ABV. With only 577 bottles produced, it offers a rare opportunity to experience mature Karuizawa from an individual cask.

The whisky was bottled specifically for Cask Norway AS and Cask of Sweden, adding a particular provenance to this already limited release. The combination of the 1984 vintage, long maturation, Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry Butt, and single-cask character makes Cask #7802 a compelling example of Karuizawa's historic production.

About the Distillery

Karuizawa Distillery was one of Japan's most celebrated whisky producers, renowned for its richly matured single malts and particularly its Sherry cask expressions. Located in Nagano Prefecture, the distillery ceased production in 2000, making its remaining stocks finite and increasingly sought after by collectors.
