Karuizawa 1989 12 Year Old 58.6% #3207 - Kawachiya

A rare expression from the legendary Karuizawa Distillery, this 12-year-old single malt was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2002 as a special Vintage for Kawachiya release. Matured in a Sherry Cask, it offers a rare glimpse into Karuizawa's historic production from the final years of the 1980s.

Matured for 12 years and drawn from a single cask (#3207), this whisky was bottled at 58.6% ABV. With only 410 bottles produced, it represents a highly limited example of Karuizawa single malt from an individual cask.

Bottled specifically for Kawachiya, this release combines a clearly defined distillation date, individual Sherry cask, and limited production. Its 1989 vintage and early-2000s bottling date place it among the historic Karuizawa releases that preserve the character of the distillery's original stocks.

About the Distillery
