About the Distillery

Port Ellen Distillery, founded in 1825 on the southern coast of Islay, was closed in 1983 and has since become a legend among whisky enthusiasts. Known for producing deeply peated, complex malts with a balance of smoke, brine, and citrus, Port Ellen bottlings are now among the most sought-after in the world. Though silent for decades, its legacy endures through rare single casks and independent releases like this one, preserving the spirit of Islay’s smoky soul.
