Port Morant Distillery, built on the banks of the Demerara River in 1732, stands as one of the world’s oldest estates. It gained acclaim for its utilization of some of the largest stills in Guyana, crafting robust and high ester pot still rums. The name “Port Morant” became synonymous with the legendary double wooden pot still that originated from the Port Morant Estate Distillery, a unique treasure exclusively found in Guyana! Following distillery closure, the Port Morant still found a new home at the Diamond (Demerara) Distillery, the sole remaining distillery in Guyana today.
