Velier

Velier, the renowned bottler, was founded in 1947 by Casimir Chaix. With the support of Arturo Lupi, the company initially focused on wine and spirits distribution.
In 1983, Luca Gargano, the Marketing Director of Spirit Spa at the time, acquired shares in Velier, marking a turning point in its history.

In the early 90s, Gargano began exploring the world of whisky and rum, selecting barrels from various vintners and distillers. Collaborating with Signatory Vintage, he curated ranges.
However, it was rum that truly showcased his talent for sourcing and selecting extraordinary products, unleashing his creative genius.

Gargano played a pivotal role in the resurgence of Caroni, the legendary Trinidadian distillery, by releasing its last official bottlings. He also pioneered the introduction of Hampden rum to the world, capturing the essence of its unique Jamaican style. Additionally, his efforts sparked a renewed interest in Haitian rum Clairin.

Notably, Velier’s own bottlings have become sought-after treasures for enthusiasts. Through the bottling of spirits from renowned distilleries, Velier has created unique bottles of Skeldon, Diamond, Port Mourant, Uitvlugt, and Albion, showcasing their exceptional quality and solidifying its reputation in the industry.

With a passion for sourcing and bottling rare and exquisite expressions, Velier continues to captivate collectors and connoisseurs with its unparalleled selection of fine spirits.
