The Caroni distillery, situated in Trinidad, ceased operations in 2002 and was later demolished. Often dubbed the “Port Ellen of rums”, it shares a striking resemblance: Caroni’s robust character akin to Port Ellen’s peatiness. With a substantial stock awaiting bottling and rapidly rising prices, acquiring a Caroni bottle is a prized find for collectors, destined to grace their rare spirits shelves.
