Established in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail boasts a 120-year legacy of crafting and bottling single malt whiskies. By the 1950s, the company held the world’s most extensive selection of bottled malt whiskies, with many achieving legendary status. In recent years, Gordon & MacPhail has taken pride in unveiling some of the globe’s oldest whiskies, surpassing 60 years of maturation.
Each decanter is numbered and comes with a special wooden box. Another feature of this collector’s edition is a book written by Charles MacLean, published especially for the occasion. Despite being matured for an incredibly long amount of time, The Angels behaved themselves: the cask was filled at 63,5% and bottled at 59,3%.

Distilled in 1950, cask number 2747 was bottled after 65 years at its natural strength, color, and without chill-filtration. Uniquely, despite its age, the alcohol volume remained high at 59,3%. This rarity, filled with fresh distillate in 1950, matured in a sherry-filled cask, resulting in a distinctive profile.
