Karuizawa whisky, produced by a distillery established in 1955 near Mount Asama in Miyota, Japan, is now a rare and highly sought-after collector’s item since the distillery’s closure in 2001.
It is worth noting that in 1961, the company acquired Nisshin Breweries, incorporating the Mercian brand for wine production. By 1970, the company had launched Chateau Mercian wine and continued to diversify its offerings, including popular drinks like Peachtree Fizz during the Highball Boom of the 1980s.
