The spectacular Koinobori collection is brought to life with a bold Karuizawa single malt that has been carefully crafted from a range of vintages distilled at the turn of the century. Varying cask types and maturities were selected to capture the full gamut of notes that are unique to Karuizawa’s highly distinguished expressions. The flavor profile is one of the most complex Karuizawa expressions you’ll find, featuring notes of spice and dark chocolate on the palate joined by umami and succulent forest fruit. Prunes, dates, and plums intensify nearing the finish. It’s a delightful experience through and through.
The collection includes 3 cask strength bottles which each contain 70cl of Karuizawa Single Malt from the 1999-2000 vintage range originally released by Karuizawa.
The Koinobori Series features 3 immaculately designed bottles adorned with a symbol of Japanese good fortune, the Koinobori carp. The Koinobori are a traditional element of Japanese culture representing the family.
The black Koinobori are a symbol of the father, the red or pink a symbol of the mother and the smaller fishes in violet, blue or green symbolize the children. The Japanese hang the Koinbori on their houses in honor of their children in hopes of bringing them good fortune, health and strength.
