From Humble Beginnings to Renowned Producer
Founded in 1988 by the Symington brothers in Edinburgh, Signatory Vintage initially struggled to gain traction in the whisky industry. They often received barrels rejected by larger bottlers like Gordon & MacPhail and Ian MacLeod due to low editions or subpar quality. Despite these challenges, Signatory persevered.

Over the years, Signatory Vintage underwent a remarkable transformation from a small, insignificant bottler to a respected and acclaimed producer. Today, they are known for their rare and highly sought-after bottlings, a testament to their dedication to quality and craftsmanship. One example of such a bottle of whisky is the Port Ellen 1982 26yo 59,3% cask#1514, of which there are only 267 bottles available on the market.
Edradour – The Jewel in Signatory’s Crown
In 2002, Signatory acquired Edradour, the smallest distillery in Scotland, further solidifying their position in the industry. This strategic move allowed Signatory to enhance their portfolio and continue their legacy of offering exceptional whiskies to enthusiasts worldwide.
