With Uitvlugt‘s closure in 2000, its stills and barrels found a new home at the Diamond distillery. Among these were three distinctive barrels that bore the Skeldon 1978. Luca Gargano, privileged with access to the distillery’s cellars through Velier’s stake in Demerara Distillers Ltd, uncovered these barrels. Having matured for 27 years in tropical conditions, they were swiftly bottled to prevent further evaporation, the so-called Angels’ Share.
