Distilled at the renowned Caroni distillery in Trinidad and boasting a powerful 65.4% ABV, the High Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum (Lion’s Whisky) HTR is an 18-year-old rum masterpiece. Selected by Massimo Righi and Diego Sandrin and bottled by Velier, it represents a luxurious rarity with only 164 bottles released for Lion’s Whisky.

This exceptional rum has its origins at the legendary Caroni distillery in Trinidad and stands as a testament to the art of Caribbean distillation. Distilled in 2000 from Molasses, it matured for 18 years in the Caribbean climate before being carefully bottled from single cask #R4005.

The tasting journey this rum provides is both intricate and intense; aromas of smoky tar mingle with dried fruit and a touch of menthol. When sipped, its robust character unfolds with flavors of tar, rubber, and smoke enriched by dried fruit notes. While many from the RumX community appreciate its rich Caroni character, a few believe it might benefit from more balance. Behind this exceptional rum stands Lion’s Whisky SRL, stemming from Diego Sandrin’s passion for whisky.

A Venetian company, it’s a branch of a grand Holding, and Sandrin’s personal collection showcases over 15,000 premium bottles, a portion of which graces their online store, with others to be introduced as market demands.
