On the other hand, the 1996 vintage honors John Eversley, a mechanic at Caroni from 1981 until its closure in 2003.

John “D” Eversley – A Heavy Triumph

Distilled in 1996 and matured for 22 years, this bottle is an exquisite representation of Caroni’s heavy rums. With a robust ABV of 66,5%, the rum entices with an intense profile, featuring the scents of tar, raisin, and bicycle tube, complemented by creamy pineapple. On the palate, it unfolds into a tapestry of licorice, tobacco, and rubber, earning a stellar 9.3/10 rating from RumX community members.

Dennis “X” Gopaul – A Balanced Elegance

This 20-year-old rum, distilled in 1998, showcases Caroni’s capability for a well-rounded, balanced profile. With a commanding ABV of 69,5%, it presents an aromatic bouquet of caramel, rubber, oak, floral notes, and papaya. The tasting notes reveal a nuanced blend of fruitiness, sweetness, bitterness, woodiness, and vanilla.
