Alcohol
Johnn Scott & Miller’s spirits
John Scott’s, formerly known as Johnn Scott & Miller, operated as a grocery store in Kirkwall, Orkney. In addition to providing handyman services to Highland Park distillery, they had a tradition of offering shop bottlings for local residents. This is how the alcohol began its journey, aging in barrels until the time came for it to be bottled.
Highland Park 1967 John Scott’s
In 1967, owner Robert Firth Miller received payment for a job with twelve sherry casks (some sources suggest quarter casks) filled with new make spirit. These casks were inherited by his son, Robert M Miller. From 2003 to 2009, Duncan Taylor bottled all the casks of whisky, with some labels bearing the John Scott’s name and others solely under the Duncan Taylor brand.
